Windjana Gorge National Park features a 3.5km gorge formed by the Lennard River. Freshwater crocodiles can often be seen sunning themselves on the river banks in late afternoon.

Windjana Gorge National Park is hauntingly beautiful. Windjana Gorge is 145km east of Derby off the Gibb River Road. The Lennard River that rages during the wet season has cut through the Napier Range creating a fabulous gorge almost 4km-long gorge.
The Napier Range is part of an ancient Devonian reef and so many fossils tell the changing story of Kimberley wildlife. Windjana Gorges fossil-embedded limestone walls and columns rise high into the air over rushing waters or still gorge pools according to the season.
The area is riddled with caves and tunnels; ancient Aboriginal rock art depicts stories from the Dreamtime. The flora and fauna of the Windjana Gorge National Park is awesome and it is not unusual to sight wild cattle even, drinking at eventide from the waters holes.
