| Valley of the Giants, Tree Top Walk, Ancient Empire | |
The tiny town of Walpole is nestled amongst giant forests on the Walpole-Nornalup Inlet, 430km or six hours drive south of Perth. Visitors to Walpole can experience the Valley of the Giants and Tree Top Walk, the Ancient Empire and the beautiful scenery and attractions of the Walpole-Nornalup National Park.
Walpole was not really settled until the 1930s when the government enticed people to the area for work during the Great Depression. The land was slowly cleared and today the small town of Walpole exists as a service town for the surrounding rural areas where fishing, dairy and beef are its main industries.
In recent years, Walpole has greatly benefited from the international attention its received regarding the alluring forests that surround it. The town of Nornalup is only a few kilometres away and both are situated on the Walpole and Nornalup inlets.

The Walpole-Nornalup National Park was established in 1910 and it covers the 2020ha of towns, inlets and surrounding forests. The park contains rolling valleys that follow the Bow, Franklin and Deep rivers to the sea. Its sweeping, shallow inlets and rugged coastlines belong to another world.
