The Ningaloo Reef meets the beach of the North West Cape. It is a virtually untouched barrier reef of 260km length protecting a shallow, brilliant white sandy lagoon of clear tropical waters. One of the rare places on earth where you are able to walk from the beach straight onto a coral reef. More than 500 species of tropical fish and 220 species of coral make up the Ningaloo Reef; a protected marine park. With the sea only up in your knees, allow the many coloured fish to swim and feed between your legs. From eighteen months to eighty years of age enjoy the thrill of snorkeling amid the dazzling display of tropical species and colours of fish and coral in the shallows like swimming through the stars"."

Ningaloo Reef is Australias largest fringing coral reef, and runs 260km along the length of the North West Cape. Best access to this beautiful part of Australias Coral Coast from Exmouth in the north and Coral Bay in the south of the North West Cape.
The warm waters of Ningaloo Marine Park are home to the largest fish in the world, the Whale Shark as well as an utter abundance of marine life including soft and hard corals, manta rays, sea snakes, whales, turtles, sharks and over 500 species of tropical fish.
Exmouth is 1270km from Perth on the Exmouth Gulf and Coral Bay marks the southern extreme of the teeming reef. Exmouth was established in 1967 as a joint Australian-U.S. communication base and submarine re-fuelling station due to its proximity to the Southeast Asian waters.
Activities on the North West Cape include magnificent snorkelling in pristine waters; Ningaloo Reef starts close to the shore making it accessible to everyone, including small children. Tropical fish swim around your feet in the shallow waters.

For those who want to explore the reef but do not want to get wet, a semi-submersible cruise is available with an introduction to the amazing underwater world of coral gardens and vividly-coloured tropical fish. Expert commentary gives you the chance to learn about this marine environment and offers excellent photographic opportunities. Fishing is superb; beach fishing is easy and fun or perhaps deep ocean species like Red Emperor, groper, North West Snapper, mackerel or tuna.
Navy Pier Dive
A range of different dive sites to suit varying levels of experience: entry-level dive sites include Gullivers, Blizzard Range, The Labyrinth and the Fish Pit while advanced divers can take things further at Helgas Tunnels, Helby Bank or the Sponge Garden Drift.
Double sea kayaks are the perfect way to explore the sheltered lagoons, where the water is rarely more than 3m deep. They are smooth and quiet, allowing you to get up close to wildlife.
