With a climate remarkably similar to Bordeaux in the Gironde region of France, and with residents of many strong mid European ethnic backgrounds, many more vineyards could be expected in Manjimup. The crushes are small, averaging between 20 and 60 tonnes Batista Estate produces Shiraz, Merlot cabernet and Pinot noir; Middlesex 31 Winery offers Pinot noir, Chardonnay and Verdelho; Peos Estate, en route to the Four Aces trees, has Manjin chardonnay, Four Aces Shiraz and Cabernet sauvignon.
As well as appearing on wine lists nationally, the Chardonnay, Sauvignon blanc Semillon and Cabernet sauvignon shiraz of Piano Gully Winery can be sourced in Europe and America.
Sinclair Wines produce a delightfully balanced Rose; a Chardonnay and Jezebel is a Cabernet merlot. Yanmah Ridge is proudly organic, producing distinctive Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet sauvignon and Cabernet merlot.
The larger Chestnut Grove Winery crushes some 180 tonnes and has award winning Verdelho and Merlot and its lower price range Tall Timber label offers Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon blanc Semillon.
