Corrigin is some 230km southeast of Perth and 68km south of Bruce Rock. Corrigin, named after Corrigin Well, is in the middle of one of Australias largest wheat districts, the West Australian Wheat Belt.

Corrigin was one of the last wheat belt towns to emerge in the 1880s. There were no roads to Corrigin until 1913, when the first town blocks were auctioned.
Corrigin has a folk museum with a collection of farm machinery, the Pioneer Museum on the corner of Kunjin and Kirkwood Streets and the Wildflower Scenic Drive also takes in views from the Lookout Tower, 3km west.About 5km out of Corrigin is a buried bone dog cemetery. This is homage to mans best friend and possibly one of the more bizarre attractions in Western Australia. Corrigin also has an emu farm, a couple of yabbie farms and a marron farm.George Rock rises out of seemingly endless flat landscape approximately 20km southeast. The gorge was dammed to form a large swimming area, which was used before the building of an Olympic swimming pool.
