Cervantes is the little fishing town inside the Pinnacles Desert. It was established as recently as 1962 when the government dedicated 505ha in the northwest section of Nambung National Park to establish a town.

Today, Cervantes is a pleasant fishing village with three jetties and a large crayfish rock lobster processing plant.
Port Denison and Jurien Bay
Also near the Pinnacles Desert are the cray fishing villages of Port Denison and Jurien Bay, both small towns that take advantage of the profusion of marine life available in the clear warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
