Cape Range National Park, between along the North West Cape to Exmouth is full of contrasts. Pass from high plateau shrub land to deep ocean within just a few kilometres. The Cape Range National Park covers 50,581ha of the land near Exmouth along the western side of the North West Cape. Cape Range is a massive limestone range that has been eroded of time; its National Park boasts spectacular ridges, gullies and deep caves that meet one of the most spectacular coastlines in Australia. This area is full of striking contrasts between the divergent environments of rugged Cape Range and Ningaloo Marine Park. Cape Range is the only elevated limestone ridge along the north western coast of Western Australia. Visitors can travel along the Charles Knife Road exploring the Thomas Carter Lookout with its magnificent views of the chunky gorges, including amazing Shothole Canyon. Next, onto Yardie Creek and Gorge where clear water flows year-round through a pretty gorge into a small estuarine lagoon. Here, you may catch a glimpse of a cute rock wallaby as you walk along the trails that meander above the gorges vertical red rock walls. The 3km-winding walk through Mandu Mandu Gorge along an ancient riverbed is a popular attraction.
