Day 1 Perth to Albany via Tree Top Walk

Heading south, visit the charming town of Donnybrook, or “Apple Town” as the locals call it, which is known for its orchid harvests.

Relax as you travel through the rolling farmlands of the Blackwood River Valley and the historic towns of Balingup and Bridgetown.

Visit the Diamond Tree, and travel through the towering karri forest, before reaching the Valley of the Giants, so named because of the size of the majestic karri and tingle trees that grow there.

Enjoy the fantastic view of the forest canopy from the Tree Top Walk- a 400m long walkway through the tops of the tree branches. Pressing on to Albany, witness the spectacular Natural Bridge and The Gap.

Day 2 Albany to Esperance

Visit Bluff Knoll, the highest point in the southwest, and one of the only places in Western Australia that records snowfall. It is a popular spot for hikers as it affords fantastic views of the Stirling and Porongurup Ranges.

Travel to the amazing granite formation of Wave Rock. With its dramatic striped surface, this ancient formation looks just like a huge wave about to break on the bushlands that surround it.

Continue to the pretty port town of Esperance.

Day 3 Esperance

Enjoy a scenic morning cruise of the picturesque Bay of Isles, which is sprinkled with some of the many islands that make up the Recherche Archipelago, just outside of Esperance.

Dolphins, sea-lions, whales and many sea birds populate this area, so keep your eyes peeled and try to spot some Australian wildlife.

Visit Cape Le Grand National Park- a stunning reserve of granite rock outcrops, dramatic coastlines and isolated beaches, empty except for the local kangaroos.

Day 4 Esperance to Kalgoorlie

Travel through old gold-mining towns of Norseman, Widgiemooltha and Kambalda en route to Kalgoorlie, the historic boomtown of the West Australian gold rush that continues to support a thriving mining industry.

At the Miners Hall of Fame, learn about mining legends such as Paddy Hannan who discovered the gold nugget that sparked the famous gold rush of the late 1890s and see molten gold being poured at the North Kalgoorlie Tourist Mine.

Stand on the edge of the gaping Super Pit- the largest open cut gold mine in Australia.

Kalgoorlie is known as much for its gold mining as for its wild-west lifestyle, and you have the opportunity to tour some of the historic pubs such as the Exchange Hotel and the infamous Hay St.

Day 5 Kalgoorlie to Perth

Pass through the former mining town of Coolgardie. The grand 19th Century buildings that line the deserted street bear witness to the size and prosperity of the town during the gold rush.

Enter the rolling fields of the wheat belt region, and travel through farming towns of Southern Cross, Merredin and Northam before arriving in Perth to conclude your tour.
