Leaving Perth, head south to the Margaret River wine region. At Yallingup Shearing Shed, see a fun Australian sheepdog and shearing demonstration.

Visit two of the regions best-loved institutions; the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, and the Margaret River Cheese Company, where you can sample their delicious produce for free.

Enjoy some of the fantastic wine that this area is renowned for, before continuing to Bussleton, home of the longest timber jetty in the southern hemisphere.

Overnight: Hotel- Abbey Beach Resort

Day 2 Margaret River to Pemberton

Explore the charming Margaret River township at your leisure before heading to Surfers Point, site of the best surf breaks in the south-west, for panoramic views of the beautiful coastline.

Visit Mammoth Cave for a guided tour. Created by underground water bodies that have dissolved the porous limestone rock, this magnificent cave also boasts impressive fossils of long-extinct Australian fauna.

Crane your neck to see to the top of the mighty karri trees in Boranup Forest, as you head towards Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse. Marking the division between the Pacific and Great Southern Oceans, this is Australias most southwesterly point.

Visit, and have the opportunity to climb the 61 meter tall Gloucester Tree- a bushfire watch tower that was pegged with climbing steps in 1946. The views from the top of this lookout (the tallest in the world) are worth it.

Overnight: Hotel- Abbey Beach Resort

Day 3 Pemberton to Albany

Stroll to the beautiful Beedelup Falls, hidden away in the heart of the Pemberton forest, before continuing to the quiet coastal town of Walpole.

  • Enjoy a luncheon cruise on the Nornalup Inlet. This estuarine inlet is permanently open to the sea, and this has allowed it to develop into a rich and diverse marine habitat.
  • Visit the majestic Valley of the Giants, so named after the mighty karri and tingle trees that populate it. Enjoy the fantastic view from the canopy on the Tree Top Walk, which reaches up to 40m above ground level.

Heading towards Albany, see the crashing waves at The Gap a yawning chasm in the cliff face, as well as the Natural Bridge- a huge granite arch that has been shaped by eons of rough sea conditions.

    Overnight: Hotel- Ace Motor Inn

    Day 4 Albany to Esperance

Travel to the Bluff Knoll, in the Stirling Ranges. One of the very few places that records snow fall in Western Australia, this peak is a popular spot for hikers as it affords fantastic views of the Stirling and Porongurup Ranges.

Leaving the region, travel to the amazing granite formation, Wave Rock, near Hyden. As the name suggests, it looks like a huge wave, breaking over the bush that surrounds it.

Passing through sheep farming town of Ravensthorpe, head to the gorgeous port town of Esperance, gateway to the Bay of Isles.

Overnight: Hotel- Bay of Isles Motor Inn

    B L D

    Day 5 Esperance

Cruise through the Bay of Isles, which is sprinkled with some of the many islands that make up the Recherche Archipelago, and enjoy morning tea at the popular holiday spot, Woody Island.

Dolphins, whales, sea lions and many sea bird species populate these waters, so keep your eyes peeled and try to spot some Australian wildlife.

Visit Cape Le Grand National Park- a stunning reserve of granite rock outcrops, dramatic coastlines and isolated beaches, which you may have to share with the sunbathing kangaroos.

Overnight: Hotel- Bay of Isles Motor Inn

    Day 6 Esperance to Kalgoorlie

Travel through former mining towns of Norseman, Widgiemooltha and Kambalda en route to the famous gold boomtown of Kalgoorlie.

Browse through the Miners Hall of fame and the North Kalgoorlie Tourist mine, where you can see gold being poured, and try your luck panning for nuggets. Head out to the Super Pit- the huge crater-like open cut gold mine.

Kalgoorlie is known as much for its gold mining as for its wild-west nightlife, and you have the opportunity to tour some of the historic pubs such as the Exchange Hotel and the infamous Hay St.

    Overnight: Hotel- Rydges Hotel Kalgoorlie

    Day 7 Kalgoorlie to Perth

Pass through the former mining town of Coolgardie before entering the oceans of nodding grass in the wheat belt region.

Travel through farming towns of Southern Cross, Merredin and Northam and arrive in Perth to conclude your tour.
