Day 1 Broome - Gibb River Road

Hike along the rivers edge of Windjana Gorge and get a chance to see bird life and fresh water crocodiles.

Do a bit of caving as you walk through Tunnel Creek, wear your bathers and carry a torch to fully explore the area.

Walk in waist deep icy cold water, in the dark with its fair share of flying bats and make camp along Gibb River Road, this is sure to be an unforgettable experience.

Overnight: Gibb River Road camp

Day 2 Gibb River Road - Bell Gorge

Visit Lennard River Gorge with its spectacular setting and refreshing swimming spot.

Enroute to Bell Gorge, pass through King Leopold Ranges which is considered one of the nicest gorges in the Kimberley.

From King Leopold Ranges you will get awe inspiring views of the gorge and waterfalls, afterwards make camp at the scenic lookout of Bell Gorge.

Overnight: Bell Gorge bush camp

Day 3 Bell Gorge - Barnett River Gorge

Take a short drive to Galvans Gorge which offers a peaceful location with beautiful scenery and great swimming.

  • Hike around Manning Gorge and enjoy the view of the beautiful waterfall of the upper gorge.
  • Visit Barnett River Gorge and explore the gorges rugged red sandstone rock formations and then cool off in the deep clear water.

    Day 4 Barnett River Gorge - El Questro Station

    Travel through the Gibb Ranges and enjoy spectacular views over the Cockburn Ranges on your way to the El Questro Station.

    In the afternoon take a hike along Amalia Gorge which will take you to a beautiful waterfall with a large plunge pool for swimming.

    Explore El Questro Station, which is an acre cattle working station that is full of Kimberley character and make camp on the side of the Pentecoste River in the heart of the Kimberley region.

    Day 5 Explore El Questro Station

    Take a challenging hike and explore the El Questro Gorge, one of the most beautiful gorges at El Questro Station.

    Explore Emma Gorge and enjoy swimming in crystal clear pools and later on after a hearty meal, head off for a night walk and try and spot some wildlife.

    Day 6 El Questro - Bungle Bungles

    Start the day by relaxing in a series of thermal pools known as the Zebedee Hot Springs that are located in a picturesque surrounding of palms and have a perfect temperature to ensure that you get full enjoyment.

    Take a look at famous Indigenous Kimberley Rock Art at Matteo Rock, where you can get an insight into Indigenous lifestyle and culture.

    Head to Wyndham and get stunning views of the surrounding area from the 5 Rivers Lookout.

    In the afternoon head down to the spectacular Bungle Bungle Ranges, they consist of 200-400 metre high rounded beehive-shaped domes with horizontal coloured bands of orange, black and grey.

    Day 7 Explore Bungle Bungles

    Spend a full day exploring the Bungle Bungles, start the day with an optional exhilarating helicopter flight over the area (own expense).

    The first stop is the spectacular 'Domes Walk' amongst the colourfully banded domes as you hike through Piccaninny Creek.

    Enjoy magnificent views as you take an easy hike that leads to the huge pool base of Cathedral Gorge.

    In the afternoon head to the north side of the Bungles and visit Echidna Chasm, a long narrow gorge with 150 metre high sheer rock faces that you can walk between and in the evening star gaze under beautiful skies.

    Overnight: Bungle Bungles-Walardi Campsite

    Day 8 Bungle Bungles - Kununurra

    Take in the scenery on the slow 4WD journey out of the Bungles heading towards Kununurra, stop at Ivanhoe Crossing and then on into Kununurra where you can have lunch at the lake.

    Choose between visiting Hoochery (the oldest rum distillery in the southern hemisphere) or looking at some famous Kimberley art at one of the local galleries.

    After crossing the border into the Northern Territory, visit Gregory National Park and take a short walk thats leads to a scenic lookout and at the end of the day make camp at Timber Creek.

    Overnight: Timber Creek

    Day 9 Kununurra - Darwin

    Stop over in Katherine in the morning enroute to Edith Falls and enjoy a swim in the cool water and take a hike to the upper pools.

    Explore the area around edith Falls and then sit down to a relaxed luch before you head back to Darwin.
