DAY 1 Broome - Fitzroy Crossing

Travel in air-conditioned comfort via Willare to the ancient Geikie Gorge for an afternnoon Darngku Heritage Cruise hosted by the Bunuba people.

Learn of the Dreamtime; of the bush medicine and bush tucker; animal tracking and view sea fossils.(Closed in shoes essential).

Spot crocodiles; visit the historic Crossing Inn.

Day 2 Fitzroy Crossing - Halls Creek

Stop at the spring fed Palm Springs; explore the abandoned gold rush town site of Old Halls Creek; see the pioneers cemetery and China Wall an amazing geological formation.

Visit an Aboriginal craft store.

Overnight: Overnight Halls Creet Motel, with ensuite

Day 3 Halls Creek - Bungle Bungles

Tackle the outback track into the spectacular Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park).

After lunch two easy paced walks; see the towering Livistonia Palms at Echidna Chasm; visit the natural amphitheatre of beautiful Cathedral Gorge.

Day 4 Bungle Bungles - Kununurra

Free time in the morning and option for an outstanding experience of a helicopter flight over the Bungle Bungles (own expense) seeing the infinity of the magnificent Kimberley landscape; gaining a sence of spirituality of its ancient people.

Continue to Kununurra, arriving just before sundown.

Day 5 Kununurra - El Questro Wilderness Park

Cruise the Ord River to the massive inland sea, Lake Argyle.

Visit the Ord River Irrigation Scheme plantations. Perhaps spot Jesus birds, archer fish, rock wallabies or hundreds of thousands of nocturnal fruit bats high in trees lining the riverbank; see some of the tropical plantations and visit Ivanhoe Crossing.

Hit the Gibb River Road to El Questro. Optional activities include a strenuous hike to Emma Gorge or the tranquil Chamberlain Gorge cruise.

Tonight you have the opportunity to upgrade to the opulent El Questro Homestead. This unrivalled and exclusive accommodation is perched high above the Chamberlain Gorge.

Day 6 El Questro - Mount Elizabeth Station

Walk to Zebedee Springs before continuing south-westerly along 'the Gibb'.

Drive through the Pentecost Ranges and a river crossing today for Kimberley style hospitality at the Kimberley cattle station.

Day 7 Mount Elizabeth - Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge

Cover much of Gibb River Road today. Stop en route at beautiful Galvan's Gorge for a dip.

Take a strenuous 30 minute hike to spectacular Bells Gorge.

Traverse the King Leopold Ranges to Mt Hart, perhaps spot remnant rainforest or dancing brolgas, maybe take a swim at Baker Pool. Top off the day with some Kimberley hospitality; a champagne and cheese watching the sun set over the King Leopold Ranges.

Day 8 Mount Hart - Broome

Pass via the Napier Ranges to the Oscar Ranges and Tunnel Creek.

Wade underground, through the sometimes deep, icy cold water of the creek in the tunnel.

Hear of Jandamarra the Aboriginal Freedom fighter who evaded capture for many months, his story becoming part of the ignomity of early settlement history. See Marine fossils high in cliff walls at ancient Windjiana Gorge.

Return to Broome through cattle country, stopping en route at the infamous Derby Prison Boab Tree.
