DAY 1 Broome - Windjana Gorge

Leave Broome behind as you make your way into the outback. Visit the fascinating Derby Prison Tree, which was once used as an overnight holding cell for criminals.

Begin your journey on the Gibb River Road, and marvel at the rugged beauty of the landscape as the road takes you towards Windjana Gorge.

Wander through the magnificent, ancient gorge and marvel at the forces of the river which carved it out over millions of years, before settling down in Windjana Gorge National Park.

Overnight: Windjana National Park.

DAY 2 Windjana - Tunnel Creek - Bells

Be prepared to get a bit wet as you explore Tunnel Creek, an amazing natural tunnel which cuts through the Napier Range. Listen to stories of local history and legend, before continuing on towards Bells Gorge.

Overnight: Bells Gorge.

DAY 3 Bells Gorge - Manning

Drive through the King Leopold Ranges, the Kimberleys highest mountain range en route to Galvans Gorge. Swim in the deep, refreshing pool, get a natural back massage as you sit under the cascading waterfall, or simply admire its natural untouched beauty.

  • Bushwalkers have the opportunity to explore Manning Gorge before returning to Mt Barnett Station for the night.
  • Overnight: Mt Barnett Station.

    DAY 4 Manning Gorge – El Questro

    Travel through the majestic Cockburn Ranges, and see Cambridge Gulf and the twin rivers of Durack and Pentecost, before continuing to El Questro Wilderness Park.

    This huge Northern Territory reserve covers an area of land approximately twice the size of the UK, and is renowned for its amazingly varied, untouched landscape.

    Overnight: El Questro.

    DAY 5 El Questro - Kununurra

    Relax in the thermal pools at Zebedee Springs, surrounded by dense tropical vegetation and ancient Livingstonia Palms. Have the opportunity to hike through some of the magnificent gorges of the vast El Questro park, before continuing to Kununurra.

    Overnight: Kununurra.

    DAY 6 Kununurra – Bungle Bungles

    Depart Kununurra and traverse the dramatic scenery of the Ragged Range, home of the Argyle Diamond Mine, towards Turkey Creek. Head towards the amazing Bungle Bungles in World Heritage Listed Purnululu National Park via the Osmond Range.

    Millions of years of sand and water erosion have shaped these outcrops into fascinating and distinctive honeycomb shapes, which were known only to the local Kija Aboriginal community until the mid 1980s.

    Have the opportunity to explore Echinda Chasm, and Mini Palms before continuing to the overnight campsite.

    DAY 7 Bungle Bungles - Kununurra

    Explore the southern end of the Bungle Bungles. The natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge, has long been a sacred site for the Kija people, whilst the smooth, dry bed of Piccaninny Creek is an excellent place to see the distinctive domes up close.

    Have the opportunity to enjoy a scenic helicopter flight over these amazing formations before returning to Kununurra.
