Holiday Destinations
The State of Western Australia occupies one third of Australia. This magical area is particularly blessed with more than its fair share of natural wonders. Western Australia’s population represents just 10% of the Australian total, with most people living in or around the capital city Perth. Much of the State is remote, with plenty of beautiful wilderness to discover. There are many spectacular areas that make you feel as though you are the first person to visit... and that you should perhaps name it.
There are various options to consider for your West Australian adventure:
Self Drive Packages
Safari Adventure Tours
Coach Holidays
Fly-In Package
Touring
Options range from a half day orientation tour to a two week adventure. From opulent luxury to ‘back to nature’ basics. Tours could be conducted in luxury coaches, specially converted 4WD vehicles, in aircraft or onboard a cruise vessel. Each DISCOVER WEST tour includes a description on the modes of transport and inclusions for the tour, such as accommodation options. Check out each tour for the best one to suit your needs. Otherwise, ask The West Australian Specialist for help and advice in planning your dream holiday.

Plan and Book Ahead
West Australia is huge - about the size of western Europe. Distances between towns and attractions can be large.Pre-planning and pre-booking of accommodation before you depart is essential. Limited accommodation in country areas could mean that a town’s accommodation can be booked out well in advance. Without pre-booking, you may find that the town is full when you arrive and the next nearest town is a good day’s driving away. Pre-planning will ensure you make the most of your valuable holiday time. DISCOVER WEST is intimate with all areas of West Australia and is totally experienced at organising specific personalised itineraries for visitors.Ask for the advice of The West Australian Specialist when planning your west coast adventure to make sure you maximise your holiday experience.
Book early: West Australia has very limited availability and often books out well in advance. It is recommended to book early to avoid disappointment.
Modern Roads
West Australia is connected by a network of modern and efficient highways that lack the volumes of traffic experienced in eastern Australia and other parts of the world. Often great distances can be covered and only a hand full of cars pass on the other carriageway. Roads pass through some very dramatic and varied scenery making self-driving a pleasure and personal adventure.
Camper Vans
Perhaps you prefer to take your accommodation with you in the form of a fully equipped Motor Home. Camper hire is available from Perth, Broome and Darwin. One way hires are also available between these centres.
4WD Vehicles
If you are exploring national parks in the south west or traveling north of Perth a 4WD is recommended to enable you to fully access these spectacular areas.
The heart of the real scenery is often a ‘fun’ 4WD off the main roads.
