Tree

The
large spherical fruit produced by the boab tree are known as "Boab
Nuts". The
fruit grows on the branches of the tree, hanging like unseasonal Christmas
baubles. Local aboriginal peoples have traditionally used the nuts
as decorative ornaments depicting aboriginal cultural scenes. The
dark hairy surface of dry boab nut is scratched away to reveal the
lighter smooth surface of the nut in order to create a pictorial story. Experience
the real Australian outback in a 4 wheel drive adventure of a life
time, as you travel the Gibb River Road in one of the world's most
remote and unique areas.
